Calling All Professional Women!

Every year in January, Atlanta Woman Magazine has honored high-achieving, amazing women. The awards have been called by different names and had different criteria – but the purpose has always been the same – recognizing women who are making their mark. Atlanta Woman will be celebrating the WOW Awards on Jan. 13. Women on The Way.

Who is a Woman on the Way? She is a woman who is in the pipeline of corporations and nonprofits; she is not an entrepreneur. She has not reached the pinnacle of her professional career. She is still climbing the corporate ladder and establishing her credentials. She may be a manager, a vice president or even a SVP. Her career is still on a trajectory upwards. She has been identified by her company for a variety of reasons. These reasons may include her leadership, her success in managing an incredibly complex project, her creativity in managing her people, and by her potential. Potential is an important aspect of this WOW award. A Woman on the Way is a star now, but she will be shining even brighter in the future.

Deadline November 1.

Lawyers, Drop-Outs and Moms...Oh My!
On Oct. 2, The Wyche Group executed one of our favorite annual events with Billian Publishing – Catalyst's Top 25 Entrepreneurs and Ones to Watch Awards. The event, which took place at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, honored Atlanta’s leading entrepreneurs and five 'ones to watch' - up and coming entrepreneurs whose businesses gross less than $3 million a year.

After receiving more than 100 nominations, the list was narrowed down to 30 companies based on their growth rate, profitability, sustainability and entrepreneurship.
Once again, the TWG team was thrilled to connect with this group, which included MBA’s, a stay-at-home mom, college drop-outs, an exercise physiologist, a lawyer, and a 21-year-old senior at Emory University - all of whom have made their mark on the small-business community.

Catalystmag.com, an online magazine targeted to Atlanta’s entrepreneurs and emerging business owners, also named its Entrepreneur of the Year - Tyler Long.

TWG Selected as a 2008 Awards Finalist!

The Wyche Group just learned that PRSA Georgia has selected our program, better start livin', as a 2008 Phoenix Award Finalist.

better start livin' was designed and executed by TWG for the Alzheimer's Assocation, Georgia chapter in 2007. Over the course of fall, TWG garnered nearly 29 milllion media impressions and raised an unprecedented amount of awareness. The night of the concert event, nearly 3,000 guests filled the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre to support the initiative. Keith Urban, Anna Wilson and Matt Jenkins joined Monty Powell to entertain, inspire, and captivate both old and new advocates and create an impact and message that would endure well beyond the concert event.

The Phoenix Awards is an awards competition designed to recognize projects and programs that demonstrate excellence in the public relations profession in Georgia. The 2008 awards celebration will be held on Thursday, November 6 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. Come cheer us on!
